There are two recipes available to create an issue from monday.com to GitLab:

  1. When an item is created in monday.com, create an issue in GitLab

  2. When a status is changed in monday.com, update an issue in GitLab

Preparing your board

Before you add recipes to your monday.com Board, the board should be configured with column(s) of the information you would like to see from Gitlab.

When an item is created, create an issue in this GitLab project

Add this recipe to your board if you would like to create a new issue in GitLab every time an item is created in monday.com. You can choose any GitLab project in the GitLab account that is connected to your board.

How to add this recipe on your monday.com board?

  1. Find the GitLab integration in the Integrations Center

  2. Choose the recipe, press Add to board

  3. This GitLab project: Select the GitLab project

  4. Press Add to board

Using this recipe in combination with recipe 1. "When an issue is created in this GitLab project, create an item and sync future changes from GitLab" is not possible as it will result in a loop of creating issues and items.

When a status changes to something, create an issue in this GitLab project

Add this recipe to your monday.com board if you want to create a new issue when the status of a monday.com item is changes to for example "stuck". A new issue in GitLab is created in the GitLab project of your choice.

How to add this recipe on your monday.com board?

  1. Find the GitLab integration in the Integrations Center

  2. Choose the recipe, press Add to board

  3. Status: Select the column where the status is presented

  4. Something: Select the preferred status

  5. This GitLab project: Select the GitLab project

  6. Press Add to board
